Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors over a geographic area throughout Queensland and New South Wales and e mploying more than 2000 people.

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour.

About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking a part time Pathology Specimen Collector to work as part of the Patient Services Team in the Northern Rivers area, particularly in the Mullumbimby/Byron Bay area.

The primary task of this role is to take blood samples from patients.

You will also be required to: provide quality patient care for our patients; treat our patients with care and compassion; receive urine and faeces samples; perform phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures; record patient information; and liaise with referrers and ancillary services.

Candidates with pathology specimen collection experience and/or qualifications will be held in high regard, although this is not essential. Sullivan Nicolaides is an accredited Registered Training Organisation, and successful candidates will embark on a comprehensive training course during shifts (minimum 5 hours per working day). Upon completion of training, candidates receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection.

Staff members will be given a chance to develop their skills through ongoing training, and provided an avenue for career development and advancement.

An attractive hourly rate, circa $18.23, will be offered to each successful candidate.
